Trailer Addict

This Christmas actually looks decent! Well film wise I mean. Today on Trailer Addict we’re gonna look at the film adaptation of probably the most popular and loved musicals of all time, Les Miserables (or as I will be mercifully be spelling it Le Mis). Which is one of the many films coming out this Christmas.

Now many of you know that this production of Le Mis has already gained controversy due to poor casting (aka “The Taylor Swift rumor”). And part of me thinks that this trailer is as good as it is because Universal Studios knows they fucked up with the Taylor Swift thing. I mean just look at this;

Doesn’t that just scream; “WE’RE SORRY ABOUT THE TAYLOR SWIFT THING! PLEASE SEE THIS, LOOK EVERYTHING IS FAITHFUL AND AMAZING! PLEASE COME SEE THIS, GIVE US YOUR MONEY!!!”

And……….I am totally falling for it.

Why has it taken so long to create a theatrical Le Mis? Well maybe they were waiting for Anne Hathaway. I mean we all knew she could kinda sing. She did so at some Oscar awards.

And here I thought she’d be a weak link, but she not only carries the song well, she carries the trailer.

Which is great, but her character is only around for the first act. How will the rest of the film look once her character kicks the bucket?

We’re not given anyone else’s voice to go off of, we’re only given clips of how the other characters look in costume. And god damn, Wolverine looks so damn different!

Well to help out with this, I do have another clip to show. This is a behind the scenes look at production.

Wait, they’re singing live? Well Sweeney Todd kinda did that too. But then again this raises another question; why weren’t musicals filmed this way before? It also raises the question, “Hey I know Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen are in this, where the fuck are they?”

Also we got a poster.

And it looks a fuck-ton better than the logo my school had to use when we performed the show. (I was whore #3!)

And yes…this was the butt of every joke backstage

I’m definitely keeping an eye on how this movie’s gonna turn out, but for the rest of the promotion period I really hope they show how everyone else is singing cause I really hope that Russell Crowe can and that Helena upped her game since Sweeney.

For now, I am sold on seeing this film this December.
