We have another Les Miz trailer everyone!
Well here we are again everyone, another Les Miz trailer to look at, and more speculation to give. The hype train has really been chuggin for this film since we last spoke about it. I’ve seen a tv spot on many channels and various magazines have been doing full articles about the upcoming Oscar contender.
Right off the bat we’re getting more scenes that describe the plot and many more scenes that show each of the name characters in action.
The new trailer is equal parts mini movie/appetizer. It shows a medley of the songs and the scenes that go with them, yet showing just enough for people to want to see what’s next. It’s a musical and proud to be one!

If only the marketing for Sweeney Todd was like this.
For people who are familiar with the musical will probably be singing the next verse of each song showcased here. And these are the people this movie is meant for. They want to rally the fans, especially with the “Do You Hear The People Sing” number at the end, it pumps up the fans and makes them want to see this opening night at midnight and bring every one of their friends and family with them.
I’ve been listening to this trailer non stop while writing and creating this article, I’m no real singer, nor am I a great judge of singing. I know what I like, and I know what I hate.

HATEHATEHATEHATEHATE!
And I am loving what I’m hearing with this trailer. Sure, Cosette and her creepy “La lala la la la” and parts of Anne Hathaway’s singing can be rather jarring, but I bet once I hear it in context it’ll be great. And Russell Crowe as Javert;
If it’s one thing I don’t like is the release date for this film. Christmas day for America. Now last year Black Beaut—I mean War Horse was released on Christmas and most tend to think that Christmas is “Oscar time”. And for the most part, it’s wrong. The weeks leading up to Christmas are “Oscar weeks”. Look at War Horse, the play version got more attention and awards.
Puppetry at it’s finest!
And at Oscar time it was completely eclipsed by The Artist and Hugo. Could it really be because of the release date? Or was it because of The Artist and Hugo being better films?

FUCK YES
And other films that get released on Christmas are usually very childish and well…

…..yea
Could Les Miz break this? Could it get all the Oscar buzz and keep the buzz momentum until actual Oscar time? Or will it hit big, but be almost ignored when Oscar time actually comes?
I guess we’ll find out when Christmas comes.

I know I’ll be there!
