Just so you all know, this is my title card when I don’t know what else to draw for my articles.
A plea to MOMA.
You all know Tim Burton is my favorite director…ever.
But did you know that the Museum of Modern Art (or MOMA) had a whole Tim Burton exhibit, filled with up to date sketches and movie props and even little screenings of early films?
And one of the films involves Vincent Price with a puppet on his shoulder……HOW THE FUCK HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS?!?!
Well yes it does exist. But I will never be able to see it.
As of the writing of this article the exhibit has opened in New York and toured to LA, Australia, Toronto, London and Seoul. No way in hell will I ever be able to see it in any if these places.
BECAUSE I’M POOR!
Why hasn’t this been to Chicago yet?
Think about it; I honestly think the majority of Burton fans are Midwesterners. Something about the suburban lifestyle really talks to us.
Okay maybe it’s not the suburban thing….but this is a normal scene at the Indiana Blueberry Festival. I’m not kidding, there is always a goth crowd by the fake tattoo booth at the festival. But really, don’t these people look like they would kill to go see a Tim Burton museum exhibit?
And Chicago is home to some of the most artistic stuff ever.
Hell they have a statue to a bean.
So MOMA, please…after Seoul…let the Burton Exhibit come to Chicago. You’ll make a killing in ticket sales! Hell I’ll take a train every weekend I possibly can just to be in the same room as the Angora sweater from Ed Wood.
