VIDEO SUMMARY
In this video I highlight the absurdity of abstinence only education in the USA. I argue that it is out of touch with the reality that teenagers and young adults have sex and therefore should have medically accurate information. I review some of the “education” given in abstinence programs and argue that these programs propogate sexism, lies, and seek to instill fear instead of inform. In the last part of the video, I talk about abstinence itself as a positive choice if you are not ready for sex. I talk about sex positive ways to approach abstinence, sexual exploration, and how to know when you’re ready for sex.
