My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic.

I never get to see a true meme or Internet trend be born. I honestly don’t notice some things till well after they become popular and start their downfall.

I have never seen anything grow as much as My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic has over the years. So out of curiosity, I decided to check out the show. This was mostly after CR’s retrospective came out.

Now my personal background with Ponies isn’t really anything. I think my mom liked them more than I did. I was more into Troll dolls than anything. I had some of the bedtime books and my mom would sing this little My Little Pony jingle.

“My Little Pony loves to dance

Heels in the air and start to prance.”

I’m sure there’s more to it by she never remembered.

So I’m mostly going into this thing blind. I don’t know much about generations 1-3 but I have seen and heard some things.

I had a feeling that the show wasn’t terrible. Especially after reading the credentials and seeing Lauren Faust in the credits. I love a lot of her work, and I was a huge Powerpuff fan when I was 10.

So what did I think of this?

Okay no surprise, especially if you follow me on Facebook, I frickin love this show. Yea the episodes are simple, but the fun and world building on this show is phenomenal. I love all the characters and try to follow up on the memes as much as I can.

And yes, I love Derpy Whooves. And I even customize blind bag ponies.

Do I understand why guys like this? No but I’m familiar with guys liking girl things. I’m not phased by it really.
