Welcome RT Gomer Production fans to Damn Write! I’m Soul Tsukino.
Since this is the first article I’m posting on this site, this will be dedicated to answering some questions right up front. I’m guessing almost all of you reading this have no Earthly idea of who I am, this is a great opportunity to tell you what I like to write about and what to expect from this space in the future. So let’s get started shall we?
Who are you?
My name is Soul Tsukino. I am a self published author (check out my work here), animation reviewer, and article writer for such sites as Nerdglaze, The Nerdy Bomb, and Bubbleblabber. Besides writing I also run a Damn Write! writing panel at local animation conventions. I was fortunate enough to be one of the few chosen during RT Gomer Production’s recent talent auditions as an article and opinion writer. I am based in the state of Maine in the United States (yes, where Stephan King is from, no I’ve never met him). During my spare time I enjoy animation, both American and Japanese, professional wrestling, as well as quirky and weird pop culture stuff from decades gone by. I go to animation conventions locally and occasionally take a break from writing to try and have a social life.
What will you be writing about?
Just about anything that crosses my mind. I’ve got brewing ideas for just about everything that strikes my interest and how to bring it to you to enjoy.
Geekdom: My main focus as a writer. These will be opinion pieces on things going on in the convention scene, cosplay, and general things that effect the lifestyle I am a part of. I encourage a healthy well written response to my views and don’t take the stance that my word is law.
Anime/Cartoons: I watch a lot of that stuff so it’s bound to be written about. I’m not planning on doing full on reviews of shows, but probably giving my option on them. Especially if something comes along that really takes my breath away.
Wrestling: I’ve been a fan of Pro Wrestling since the 1980’s and have a collection to match. While I will write about the current stuff every so often, I’m an ardent Old School fan so I’ll be writing a lot more about that when the topic comes up.
Anything else: You never know just what can come to mind. If I think there is something to be written about and it would make for an entertaining read that it will be here. I will try to keep the different subjects labeled for your convenience.
So you don’t make videos?
Nope. Don’t have the resources for that kind of thing. I am better suited for letting the written word get my point across rather than the spoken word. Maybe when real life things aren’t an issue in video production I’d give it a go but right now that is not really an option. There ARE some really good video content makers on this site so there is plenty of different content to go around.
What the hell is that things on top of the screen?
That is kRaven. The main character of my super hero book series, kRaveings. He’s… different. He’s seen things. Prison can do that to a guy.
So, will you be working with any one else on the site for crossovers?
Never say never but I’m more focused on getting myself established first. I’m not really “known” as far as reviewers go so I want people to know about me and who I am before we start talking about that kind of thing. Not that I’m against it, there just isn’t anything on the drawing board right at the moment.
