My Wrestlemania picks were WAY off!

Hey Gang!

I survived another Wrestlemania experience. I had to take a day just to recover from all the Caffeine in my system and my back and hip were really sore. And I just watched the show from here in Maine! It was really an event that had me confuses and wondering what the WWE brass was up to after it was all said and done. Still haven’t got all the answers yet but it is early. I will say, my predictions for the event were DREADFUL. I’m glad I didn’t have any money riding on this or I’d lose it all! Overall I didn’t think this was going to be the best mania ever and it wasn’t. It was not that dreadful but it left a lot of people really confused. So how did I do? Let’s take a look.

Andre the Giant Battle Royal: I had picked Drew McIntyre but he wasn’t even in it. A lot of people picked NXT guys to win and they weren’t even there. Honestly not much to speak about and it was given to Matt Hardy thanks to Bray Wyatt who also wasn’t even an entrant. Match was just kinda there.

Women’s Battle Royal: I picked Shayna Bazsler and she wasn’t even in it either, although the NXT talent did get their moment, it didn’t last long. There was a Bayley/Sasha Banks moment but that was dumped so they could give it to Naomi and I don’t think that made this whole thing worth it.

Cruiserweight Title: Cedric Alexander vs Mustafa Ali: Well I got the winner here as Cedric did win and win the title in a good match where these guys wanted to push themselves and each other. I don’t know about this “Heart VS. Soul” jive they were selling during the match, but it was a good one.

Intercontinental title: Miz vs Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins: I picked Finn Balor and you, I was wrong. A good match to start off the big show and it wasn’t a huge surprise how this went. With a new daughter and probably a movie project it was best Miz lost. So who knows what they do with him now.

Smackdown Women’s Title: Charlotte vs Asuka: Not only did this match get Second on the show but I had Asuka Winning it. EASILY match of the night here I expect we will see this match again someday but wow, this one blew my mind.

US Title: Randy Orton vs Bobby Roode vs Jinder Mahal vs Rusev: By this point watching it I picked Jinder since my picks were so rotten and he ends up winning the damn thing! I originally picked Bobby Roode and that didn’t go well either. Another “there match” that didn’t stand out but it was not terrible either.

Kurt Angle/Rhonda Rousey vs HHH/Stephanie: I thought this would have been WAY higher on the card than it was. It was as expected and I actually picked the winners on this one. It had its moment but again, didn’t stand out as much as it could have.

Smackdown Tag title: Usos v/s Bludgeon Brothers v/s New Day: Although I picked this to be on the pre-show or the death spot, it was neither. Again, it was there and I got this one right in my predictions, it didn’t stick out either, especially following the Rousey match. It delivered though.

John Cena vs Undertaker: Well this was a disappointment. All the hype and random camera cut to Cena lead to nothing more than a 2-minute match, but at least Taker won. But really? What the hell was the point of this?

Shane McMahon/Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn: This one wasn’t as goofy or gimmicky as I expected, and of course Shane and Bryan win. Owens and Zayn go to RAW evidently, but with the Shake Up coming up it won’t matter anyway. It was there and the crown got into Bryan being there. So it did its job.

RAW Woman’s Title: Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax: This is the only match that went exactly like I predicted it with Bliss running and Jax just destroying her. It told a good story and had the right pay off. I’m sure one or the other will see movement in the Shakeup, but for what it was it was alright.

WWE Title: AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura: Yup, it was alright but this couldn’t be anything other than a letdown.  Not a terrible match by any means, even if the finish was. Heel Nakamura isn’t going to work no matter what show you put him on since the crowd loves him too much so this will come back and bite them a bit. Mayne the most disappointing match of the show.

RAW Tag titles: The Bar vs Braun Strowman/Mystery Partner (Nicholas): Well this went WAY into left field with the mystery partner being a 10-year-old. I don’t think anyone expected that and that was the point I guess. Maybe the only match that actually had a better outcome, even if it didn’t make a huge amount of sense at the time. And scary enough, little Nicholas actually was OVER. It was bizarre as hell but it worked!

Universal Title: Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns: This didn’t go the expected way either but having this as the main event was a bad idea. Neither guy did more than 3 or 4 moves during the whole match and if it wasn’t for the copious amount of blood Roman left on the mat, people would have left. Sure, having Brock win was a surprise and not expected, but it is time to give up the ghost. The Roman experiment was a failure and it is time to end it.

Like I said, not the best show I’ve seen them come up with. It seems downright weird at some points and you have to wonder what is going on behind the scenes. Not exactly looking to watching this show again, but I’ve also seen a lot worse too.

Now, before I go I want to point anyone reading this towards a special little pup who is part of the family of a friend of mine. I have not had the chance to meet her personally, but Bailey isn’t feeling too good and she needs some help. Poor Bailey could use the kindness of strangers so if you are reading this, I ask you to give her a little love and help her and Jen out. She has had a rough one so far so she could use the help. You can donate to her and her human Jen HERE.
