Gotta Catch my breath.

It’s something that WWE fans have started growing accustomed to, taking a break. It could be from one of their weekly shows, it could be from their bi-weekly PPVs, or it could be from the WWE Network itself.

I’m picking the latter.

The current WWE Network card I got runs out very soon, and I’m cool with that. I got four months out of the thing, which is not a bad deal. The cards come in one and 3-month deals, it just so happened that this one came with an extra month out of it. Cool beans. Not often the WWE gives you something extra!

But for all the good I get out of 205 Live and NXT, there pay per views just are not doing it for me, at least not enough to shell out money that I have.

Can you blame me?

The last event that took place was Backlash, a horrible show. The show was a jumble of bad ideas headlined by Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe in a match that not only went overtime but have people walking out of. It wasn’t a terrible show, but nothing really seemed to happen either. The same thing with The Greatest Royal Rumble event, A lot of things were promised, but nothing really delivered other than the Saudi paycheck that I’m sure Vince got and will still be getting for years.

My major draw to the Network was a lot of the classic content, and I’ve been through most of it and have it saved. Yeah, the music edits were there, but you just kinda got used to that stuff after a while. but once you pretty much got through it all, there is less and less to keep going back for. The Collesium videos were fun, but like much of what the WWE itself does, was severely limited and was far below what was actually announced and promised. With no “Best of” tapes or any of the Superstar tapes online, that takes out much of the collection right there. Not worth keeping it around for.

The current stuff is alright. As I mentioned before I got into the 205 Live! stuff and LOVED the NXT stuff. but ultimately what is that going to get you? NXT is the place to see new guys before they get ruined by the company and by Vince. Hell, even the call-ups are starting to become “punishments”. Remember Sanity? They were called up and are just NOW debuting on house shows, let alone TV. Remember The Authors of Pain, Tye Dillinger, or the other buckets of NXT guys that the WWE have forgotten about? Fun show to watch but not enough to shell out more money. Not this time.

Maybe it’s for the best. I just may need a break from a lot more in life than just the WWE Network, but the Network is giving me the chance to take one. The subscription ends here soon enough, what better way to step away and take that break. It’s not like there isn’t anything else to watch out there, or even in this country. New Japan is doing well and air on TV as well as doing free Youtube stuff. Defiant Wrestling was a good alternative too, but that seems to be winding down. And despite the dwindling crowds, AAA Lucha Libre isn’t that bad to watch either. Plus there is stuff like Youtube to sit down and watch anyway. Besides the buckets of programming, the WWE puts out, even if that level has sunk quite a bit.

So with other things on my mind that aren’t tied to wrestling, and with book ideas coming as well, maybe a breather from WWE’s constant barrage is needed. I won’t fret or worry about missing anything. There is always new stuff to try!

Now, before I go I want to point anyone reading this towards a special little pup who is part of the family of a friend of mine. I have not had the chance to meet her personally, but Bailey isn’t feeling too good and she needs some help. Poor Bailey could use the kindness of strangers so if you are reading this, I ask you to give her a little love and help her and Jen out. She has had a rough one so far so she could use the help. You can donate to her and her human Jen HERE.
