It wasn’t the best one I’ve seen.
Oh man, how about that Superbowl game huh? I have seen much better games during the big event before and this game was putting me to sleep. The game was a LOW scoring affair and even when a touchdown was FINALLY scored, it was met by a little applause and then a lot of shoulder shrugs and the question “Now what?”
Of course, American Football is nothing like the pro wrestling I usually watch and at time rant of here. Football can be WAY more unpredictable and at this game, the defense of both teams was pretty good. 13 to 3 games have a LOT of points to thank the defense. It may not be the most thrilling and exciting game you will see, but it was still plaid pretty well. So while it might have been a bit dull and not very exciting, it is not necessarily anyone’s “fault” but more to show that the defense worked.
The half time show though, holy crap was that bad. Maroon 5 was never my favorite anyway and this showing just mad that ten times worse. I don’t even remember what songs they sang but yeah, I’m not sure I would be asking them back. There are better musical acts that the Superbowl can ask. Maroon 5 isn’t one of them. And what was the point of having Big Boi there at all? He is from Atlanta sure. But the “other guy” from Outkast sing his big hit from YEARS ago was kind of flat. And the big white elephant in the room was the big movement to get the Spongebob Squarepants song “Sweet Victory” played in remembrance of the memory of the show’s creator Stephen Hillenburg, who died this past year. They HINTED at it, they played the intro to it, but nope, Sweet Victory was not played and that was a letdown. Later the next day, the Arena (Mercedes-Benz Stadium) posted the video on it’s Twitter acount of it in an empty area. Really? This is the best you can do?
I guess it was just a case of nothing holding my interested very much this year. The game itself was not very much of a nail biter, the half time show was not something I was looking forward too, and the commercials were alright but fell a little flat with me most times. But it was also free and didn’t have to pay any money for it so it was the type of game I just kinda shrug my shoulders on. That is why I watch pro wrestling way more than I do football. Although it is not perfect either, it at least tries to give you something to remember it by.
Now, before I go I want to point anyone reading this towards a special little pup who is part of the family of a friend of mine. I have not had the chance to meet her personally, but Bailey isn’t feeling too good and she needs some help. Poor Bailey could use the kindness of strangers so if you are reading this, I ask you to give her a little love and help her and Jen out. She has had a rough one so far so she could use the help. You can donate to her and her human Jen HERE.
