R.I.P Grumpy Cat

Hey Gang!

I am a big cat person. Have been since I was a kid and got my then pet cat Mikki. He got to be a big guy (25 pounds at one point) and I’ve always missed his since he left us back in 2002. Nowadays I follow cats online like Maru and Hanna, the Talking Cat, Cole and Marmalade, Their sisters Jugg and Zig Zag, Little Bub, and Teddy and his brothers, along with other videos I find randomly.

But this past week I and a lot of other people had to say goodbye to Tarder Sauce, AKA Grumpy Cat. She was the face of the internet Meme and for seven years or so she has been a feline face to bring people laughs and a lot of joy. Tarder Sauce was Seven and passed away after a UTI.

I first knew of Grumpy Cat years ago. I think I was working at Wendy’s at the time and I remember talking to one of my coworkers about this cat I had seen online that looks like a Toothless old woman. A little later on I found out this cat was a real thing and her name was Tarder Sauce. I found out more as time went on and there were more pictures. I learned of her brother Pokey and was told that she was really the more loveable and that Pokey was actually the more Grumpy of the two.

I followed Tarder Sauce since with all the picture and places she was taken. She got to go a lot of places, even overseas and got to visit a lot of places and meet a lot of people. It was a picture of a visit in England with Mike Jevons that I first got the news that she had passed.

I admit when I read the news that I cried. I know that crying over the passing of a feline I never got to meet is not most peoples reaction but that grumpy face had a lot of meaning to me. It still does.

So peace be well with you Tarder Sauce. You made a lot of people smile in your years. And for all the other kitty cats that grace the internet, I like to think you all have another angel to look over you to keep doing what you are doing and bring smiles to all the cat lovers everywhere.

Rest well little kitty. And no matter where you are, let’s hope you aren’t hating it.
