Two big events this weekend!

The biggest party of the summer is Sunday and WWE presents another Summerslam event. On top of Summerslam there is also the NXT Takeover: Toronto event that has me a bit more excited so with these events next weekend, here are my predictions

First the NXT Takeover show:

NXT Title 2 out of 3 falls: Adam Cole (c) vs. Jonny Gargano: It has been said that the first falls of the contest will ber a regular rules match and the Streetfight with William Regal choosing the third fall if needed. That will be interesting if he does. This match also is interesting for me as I predicted both for calls up to the main roster. However, I do think Cole loses the title here and leads to the Undisputed Era not having any titles. Gargano holds the belt only for a little while before he and his wife go to RAW but for right now I think he wins the title Winner: Johnny Gargano

NXT Tag Title: Street Prophets(c) vs. The Undisputed Era: Despite what the WWE wants people to think, I don’t see the Prophets going to RAW right away. It will be a great match but I don’t see the Undisputed Era team winning here either and leading to issues when none of the Era can get any gold and possibly moving on to Raw or Smackdown and having the WWE guys screw them up as well. Winner: Street Prophets

NXT North American Title: Velveteen Dream(c) vs. Rodrick Strong vs. Pete Dunn: I always hate it when the WWE puts on a 3-way match as it usually is just an excuse for someone to lose without actually pinning them. I don’t see Dunn winning the title and I have Strong losing too so I say the Dream wins the match and Strong blames Dunn for why he didn’t win the belt Winner: Velveteen Dream

NXT Women’s title: Shayna Baszler(c) vs. Mia Yim: This should be interesting but I think the other woman’s match will be better. Baszler is like the men in the Summerslam World title matches. It would take someone extra special to actually beat her for the belt and I don’t think Mia Yim is that person. Baszler will do what she usually does and choke her out and win without much of a match Winner: Shayna Baszler

Candice LeRae vs Io Shirai: This will be in a death spot on the show but I do expect this to be a good fight. I’m actually not sure who is going to win the fight but having Candice there when Gargano is in the main event will probably play into something. Since this isn’t actually for the title itself, it could go either way. Winner: Shirai with Candice and Gargano leaving for greener pastures on Raw soon after.

Overall: Should be a good show as NXT usually does. Maybe not the Show of the Year but probably better then what the major roster is doing with Summerslam the next night.

And now to Summerslam itself

WWE Championship: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Randy Orton: It’s been done before and I’m not expecting much from this. It would take someone extra special to defeat Kofi for the title and Randy isn’t it. Winner: Kofi Kingston

Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins: Don’t expect a new champion here either. Like in the WWE Title match it would take someone extra special to defeat Brock for the title and Rollins isn’t that guy. They want us to think he is, but he is not. Winner: Brock Lesnar

Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya: Submission match doesn’t real change much here. I’d hate to say it, but does anyone actually think Natalya is going to win here? She is the woman the WWE puts in these matches when they have nothing better and need to kill off a woman’s title match but don’t actually have anything going on. Winner: Becky Lynch

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Ember Moon: What is the point of this match? It would be decent if this were an episode of Smackdown but on Summerslam? I almost expect for someone else to come out during the match itself or just after it is over to challenge for the title at the next show Winner: Bayley.

United States Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Ricochet: This will be either match if the night or a huge disappointment for those expecting something really good. I don’t see Styles losing the title right yet as the WWE now has the O.C. thing going and I just don’t see him dropping the title right now. I expect lots of Anderson/Gallows interference and maybe from a team opposing them but it won’t be the classic that people want it to be. Winner: A.J. Styles

Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon: If Owens loses, he quits. Right, you know something funny will happen here. It will probably be a brawl and that is alright for this match. I’m almost expecting Sammy Zayn to turn on Owens and cost him the match and be Shane’s newest running buddy. You know, I haven’t got any better ideas so let’s go with that. Winner: Shane McMahon with a lot of silliness and Sammy Zayn turning on Owens

Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt: Why are we doing this match again? If this doesn’t happen for this match, this will lead to them doping a rematch with Bray” Fiend character vs. Balor’s Demon character but it is not something anyone was clamoring for so more likely expect to be bored out of your skull with them trying to do this. Winner: Bray Wyatt with things leading to another rematch while in “character”.

Golberg vs. Dolph Ziggler: Really? They tease Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler for weeks and then literally at the last moment they have GOLDBERG be the opponent? This match was a no nothing match before, now it will be a quickie and probably a chore to even watch. The WWE had no idea how to push Goldberg when they had him the first time, now it is putting him in these type of matches to save face after the last time he was on ppv. I’m not expecting much from this one. Winner: Goldberg

Trish Stratus vs. Charlotte Flair: Eh. Trying to make Charlotte look incredible by putting her in a match against Trish doesn’t do it for me. She’s been champion how many times? What more do you need to give her? Whatever they are planning here they have probably done before with just as much success. The only thing to get me interested is if Ric himself showed up in his daughter’s corner and I REALLY do not want him involved in this one. Winner: Charlotte Flair

Overall: Eh. The WWE wants us to get into this show and are putting a lot of hype behind it but I’m not seeing it. At best it is an okay show but nothing new or surprising will happen so it will be in the middle and not a show that will get people talking.
